Microwave surface motion sensor 360º IP20
360º surface microwave motion sensor
The microwave motion sensor is a new energy-saving switch system. Its high-frequency electromagnetic wave sensors (5.8GHz) integrated into the detector circuit offer practical automation functions in the management of lighting installations.
The microwave motion sensor is activated when it receives a motion signal from a human being. When the human enters the detection field, it activates the electrical circuit instantly, automatically identifying day and night (it can be set to activate only during the day or night).
Why microwave motion sensor?
Microwave motion sensors can detect movement through doors, panels or glass, even through thin walls. In cases such as compartmentalized offices, industrial buildings or multi-room facilities, the microwave motion sensor is the perfect element, more effective than infrared sensors.
Microwave motion sensor installation
The installation and configuration of the microwave sensors is simple. The process is detailed below:
- Disconnect the power supply and verify that the circuit is de-energized.
- Unscrew the cover of the motion sensor, mount the base against the wall and connect the back wiring.
- Install the sensor according to the indications on the back of the housing (UP arrow up).
- Fit the sensor against the cover screwed to the wall, and secure it with the screw.
- Connect the power supply and test the installation. The pilot light will be on.
To set up the microwave motion sensor, simply adjust the dials on the inside of the sensor:
- Disconnect the power supply and open the sensor to access the connections and the roulette wheels inside.
- If we place the roulette in the central position, the system will activate both day and night, with a time of 5 seconds.
- If we turn the wheel to the right, the circuit will be activated only during the day, and the time can be adjusted between 10 seconds and 15 minutes.
- If we turn the roulette to the left, the circuit will be activated only at night, and the time can be adjusted between 10 seconds and 15 minutes.
The sensor does not respond properly, what do I do?
In most cases the motion sensor will require adjustments and revisions for proper operation according to how we want it to be activated. To do this, you should check the following points:
- The sensor does not activate the circuit:
- Check that the motion sensor is receiving electrical charge.
- Does the pilot light stay on after detecting motion? If so, check the wiring.
- If the LED does not light after detecting motion, please check that it is set to day/night mode correctly.
- Check that the sensor is connected to the correct voltage (220-240V-AC).
- Sensitivity is poor/insufficient:
- Check that there is nothing in front of the detector pilot light hindering signal reception.
- Check the ambient operating temperature.
- Check that the source of the motion signal is within the detection range of the sensor.
- Check the height of the installation.
- The motion sensor does not automatically disconnect the circuit:
- Check that there is no constant motion, however small, within the detection change.
- Check that the operating time is not set to maximum (15 minutes).
- Check that the current in the circuit is less than 10A.
- Check that there are no sudden temperature changes near the sensor, air conditioning or heating emission sources, etc.
